Message From The HOD

Md. Mamunur Rashid
Assistant Professor & Head of AIS Discipline
Department of Business Administration
Faculty of Business Studies
Stamford University Bangladesh

Welcome to the Accounting & Information Systems Discipline, one of the prominent Discipline under the Faculty of Business Studies of Stamford University Bangladesh. The Accounting & Information Systems Discipline is one of the oldest Disciplines offering major at both undergraduate and graduate programs since 2005. As HOD, I have the privilege to lead this Discipline where a number of competent faculties having PhD from home and abroad and professional accountants are working to equip the aspiring learners with the necessary knowledge and skills compatible to the changing business environment.

The faculty members are actively engaged in research and extra-curricular activities and have published many influential papers at home and abroad. The active involvement of students in such activities is also apparent while doing thesis at the ending part of their programs. The changing business environment specifically the emergence of blockchain, artificial intelligence, cloud-based solutions and big data has substantially reshaped the nature of skills required for today’s accounting professionals. Keeping these changes in mind, the Discipline frequently arrange seminar, workshop and training on different accounting software including the ERP to facilitate students to acquire fundamental knowledge and skill required to enter into the emerging job markets. Moreover, the faculty members are actively involved in the placement of students for internship programs and extend their cooperation to find a place in the professional accounting certification programs such as chartered accountancy and cost and management accountancy.

Once again, thank you for visiting us. I would like to invite all of you who are interested to build your career in the field of accounting to explore our Discipline either online or through a physical visit to our campus.
