MBA Program Overview

 

As the global business environment is changing in the fastest speed, business organizations are experiencing increasing competition, consumer pressure, technological advancement, service orientation, cross-border resource movement and multicultural workplace more than ever before. To keep pace with changing business conditions special managerial skills are essentially required.  The MBA Program of Stamford University Bangladesh is intended to meet the challenge of business environment.

The MBA program has been designed following the guidelines of OBE (Objective Based Education) curriculum prescribed by UGC, Bangladesh. The MBA program is flexible and career-oriented to become best fitted in the corporate world. This program emphasizes discussion, seminar, workshop and project-based methods. It also digs deep the managerial experience and research-based learning in combination with theoretical perspectives. ‘Business Environment and Strategy’ has been offered as a Capstone Course to develop the expertise of multifaceted strategic decisions making.

The MBA program is one of the biggest programs among the Master’s programs of Stamford University Bangladesh in terms of enrollment and number of faculties. Full time highly qualified and dedicated faculty members are contributing teaching in MBA program. More than one third of the faculty members obtained their respective PhD degree from reputed universities of home and abroad. Part time faculty members from various Public Universities namely University of Dhaka has been teaching and sharing knowledge and experiences with students. Faculty members are committed to close engagements with students to improve their intellectual curiosity and motivation for learning.

The MBA program is an evening program with the length of 20 months from the date of admission. Courses have been offered throughout the year in three terms: Spring, Summer, and Fall trimesters.  Classes start at 6.30 pm and end at 9.30 pm in weekdays and 3.00 pm to 6.00pm in weekends. A student can choose to pursue one major in his/her MBA program. The MBA program is open to all graduates for further career advancements.
